Beep! Beep! Beep! It’s your alarm clock going off. Time to get up and face Monday morning! How are you feeling? Probably tired … and maybe a little bummed about the end of the weekend and the start of a new week.
Maybe you have a big project coming up or an overwhelming problem that you need to solve. You feel the pressure as soon as you get out of bed, and the snooze button looks so appealing. This is the perfect time to pause, pray, and intentionally invite God into your week.
I’m writing this article on a Monday, and I had a hard time getting out of bed. But once I said a prayer over this Monday, I found myself more centered on God and ready to take on the day! I’m confident that starting your week with prayer can do the same for you.
Keep reading to explore how you can maximize your mornings and make Mondays a little less difficult.
Start Your Week Strong
Mondays often get a bad reputation, and you and I both know why. But Mondays are also full of opportunity.
Every Monday morning, we have an opportunity to set our week up for success.
Every Monday morning, we have an opportunity to set our week up for success. How? Through an elevated perspective.
I’ve found that my perspective going into Monday can change how I approach the whole week. I can choose to focus on all the problems and challenges I’m about to face, or I can view this day as a launchpad for progress.
Today, consider all the good things God can do in your life this week. How might He grow you, shape you, and use your unique gifts to build His kingdom?
Look at Monday through a lens of gratitude and purpose. Think about what you’ve been blessed with: the people you love, the skills you’ve been given, and (if you’re a breakfast person) the food you’re about to eat. Once your mindset shifts to gratitude, you’ll begin to enjoy the rhythm of the day more and more.
Prayer Sets the Tone
Starting your Monday with prayer is important because prayer centers you and gives you a fresh perspective. When you align your heart with God’s will, you can set the tone for how your week will unfold—which then stretches all the way into the weekend. You might not know what’s in store for you this week, but when you’re centered in Christ, He’ll prepare you for what’s to come.
