Where Is God? What Is He Doing?

by Katherine Fedor

Do you ever find yourself wondering, Where is God? What is He doing? How does God spend His time? (Or rather, if you’ve been watching any recent Craig Groeschel Leadership Podcasts, how does God invest His unlimited time and allocate His unlimited resources?) Well, I did a little perusing of the Scriptures to find out, and I found a full A-Z of what God is up to and has accomplished. Here are some of the amazing things that God has done, is doing, and/or will be doing, while we’re going about our earthly business.

Answers prayer (Psalm 17:6)
Atoned for my sin (Romans 3:25)

Bears our burdens daily (Psalm 68:19)
Blesses all who call on Him (Romans 10:12)

Creates (Genesis 1:31, Psalm 51:10)
Carries His kids (Deuteronomy 1:31)
Cleanses us (Ezekiel 36:25)

Delights in people who put their hope in Him (Psalm 147:11)

Establishes authority (Romans 13:1)
Examines my paths (Proverbs 5:21)

Forgives me (1 John 1:9)

Gave up everything for me (Romans 8:32)
Guides the humble (Psalm 25:9)

Helps me (Isaiah 50:9)

Is (Exodus 3:14)

Justifies (Romans 3:26)

Knows (1 Samuel 2:3)

Loves me (Isaiah 43:4)

Makes grass grow (Psalm 147:8)

Never changes (Hebrews 13:8)

Overcame evil (Revelation 3:21)

Protects (Psalm 116:6)
Perceives thoughts (Psalm 139:2)
Plans (Psalm 33:11)

Questions (Job 38:3, Matthew 16:15)
Quickly rescues (Psalm 31:2)

Rules over everything—even unruly me (Psalm 66:7)
Ransomed my life (Matthew 20:28)
Refreshes (Acts 3:19)
Revives (Psalm 85:6)

Satisfies (Psalm 81:16)

Transforms (Philippians 3:21)

Upholds (Psalm 63:8)

Victory: has it resting with Him (Proverbs 21:31)

Waits for us to turn to Him (2 Peter 3:9)
Washes hearts (Psalm 51:2)

X-ray vision—looks at the heart (1 Samuel 16:7)

Yearns for us (Jeremiah 31:20)

Zeal: God is zealous for justice and righteousness (Isaiah 9:7), for His people (Isaiah 26:11), and for His own name (Ezekiel 39:25)

Wow, God sure has completed a whole lot of meaningful, life-changing, miraculous things on my behalf. And He continues to do more of them each and every day. It’s a good thing God’s time is unlimited, or rather that He is not at all bound by time or space, both of which He created merely by speaking. I want to remember and be thankful for all these breathtaking activities of His the next time I wonder, Where is God?
