Are you facing a situation that feels impossible? Maybe you’re waiting for answers about a medical diagnosis, hoping a relationship can be restored, or finding yourself in the same painful cycle again. It’s hard to know what to do when you’ve done all you can but nothing seems to change.
Last year, my husband broke his hip and required emergency surgery. Our kids were 2 and 3 at the time, and the situation in front of us seemed impossible.
I found strength in Isaiah 40:31, which reminds us that those who hope in the Lord can find renewed strength. That doesn’t mean we’ll suddenly see how everything will work out. But when we’re tired, afraid, or unsure what to do next, we can bring those feelings to God and ask Him for the strength to face today.

God Can Give You Strength
I remember sitting in the hospital waiting room crying out to God. I was angry, scared, and lonely. How was I going to care for my husband through nine months of recovery, look after our toddlers, work full-time, and take the Christmas lights off the house?
I know what it’s like to stare face-to-face at an impossible situation. But as Isaiah 40:31 says, when we trust in the Lord, He gives us renewed, refreshed strength that would not be possible without Him. As my husband healed, God gave us strength through people who brought meals, drove him to appointments, and mowed our lawn month after month. We still had to get through each day, but we didn’t have to do it alone.
